We have a fence

The rain stopped for long enough on the weekend to get the fence done. Only 2 more sides to go but that will be a little while off yet.

Lots of rain and lots more rain predicted

Well rain really isn't a builders friend but it's totally out of our hands!

One of our side fences started last Wednesday and all the posts are in but the job wasn't finished before the weekend so all the timber is lying there getting saturated. All week rain is predicted so not sure when they will finish.

Also waiting on our CC which should come through this week and rain is predicted pretty much most of May. Our land will be so waterlogged for our build start. I hope it doesn't significantly affect how much piering we need ie need much more

Survey pegs - in again

yesterday our neighbours got their land re-surveyed. We now have our boundary and survey pegs again marking two out of the four points of our property. So relieved as we'll need these for our build.

I drove past this morning to get some pics and the fencing guy was there. The fencing is going up today (thank goodness for the nice weather). He did say he will have to remove the rear peg but that is because they ensure that they put the corner post (100mm x 100mm) right on the spot so that is okay.

Revised landscaping

I have discussed our DA consent conditions with our lanscaping designers and they have made the changes required for our construction certificate.

Here is a copy:

Conditions of consent

We have received full copy of our DA Approval and we have a few conditions we need to meet before construction certificate: new bricks and a revised landscaping plan.

For the bricks we went back out to Austral bricks and PGH bricks again. We have selected 2 that we like both from PGH: mild steel and cement. Mild steel is my first choice but will be an upgrade. I'm going to ask our CSR for a price and that will be what our decision is based on.

Landscaping plan will be changing our steppers in gravel to steppers in mulch and also changing two trees which is no big deal to us. Will contact our landscaper and get them to amend the plans. Hopefully not too much $$ to do this.

Next step is to meet with our bank on Wednesday and do the final signing and our first drawdown on our loan.

We have Council approval

We have DA approval!!!

After the rough start and taking 2 weeks to receipt our DA, our plans have wizzed through in record time. We were expecting approval around the start of May so to get approval at the start of April is AWESOME. This will claw back some lost time.

Will await now for the consent paperwork to be sent to our builders so we can start on the construction certificate as well send a copy to the bank to finalise that end.

Am so happy right now!
